The Company
Total Recovery Systems Ltd (T.RECS) was launched in 2003 by Mike Underwood, an evolutionary scientist who wanted to combine his academic knowledge with design and business skills to develop a system to help combat the effects of climate change.
The result is a hugely innovative system, which, using ground-breaking technologies, achieves almost 90% recycling efficiency.
In 2004, T.RECS equipment was used in pioneering trials at 1,000 homes in the west Wales town of Lampeter. The trials - the first of their kind anywhere in the world - were hailed a huge success.
The system now forms the basis of a county-wide initiative to be launched later this year which will serve more than 25,000 homes. The initiative is backed by the European Union and the Welsh Assembly Government.
In March 2006, T.RECS reaches an important milestone with the consumer launch of RecycleMate, a unique and stylish household sorter unit. This is what households can use to store and sort their recycling materials - and this is where the T.RECS system begins.
The company has recently moved to Lampeter, West Wales, and employs 12 staff members. Our highly-skilled team includes specialists in metals, plastics, textiles, micro-biology, CAD (Computer Aided Design), the environment and software development.
In the months and years to come, T.RECS aims to advance its recycling ethos, systems and equipment throughout Britain, Europe and beyond.
